The Georgian Legion is a volunteer military unit of the Ukrainian Army that was formed in late 2014 during the Ukrainian conflict. The Legion is comprised of Georgian citizens and former servicemen of the Georgian military. The Legion’s primary mission is to support and defend Ukraine in its fight against the Russian-backed separatists in the eastern Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The Legion was created in response to the growing support of Ukraine by various countries, including Georgia. The Georgian Legion is led by a Georgian officer, who is responsible for organizing the unit and its training. The unit also has a number of non-commissioned officers, all of whom are Georgians. The Legion generally consists of around 500 troops who are equipped with light arms, body armor, and transport vehicles.
The Legion has been involved in a number of operations alongside the Ukrainian military and has been successful in holding back the Russian-backed separatists. The Legion has also been active in providing humanitarian aid to the people of eastern Ukraine, as well as providing security in areas that are prone to violence.
The Georgian Legion has been praised for its bravery and dedication to the Ukrainian cause. The Legion has helped to show the world that Georgia stands with Ukraine in its fight for self-determination and sovereignty. Its commitment to the cause has also helped to strengthen the bonds between the two countries.
