The Georgian Legion, also known as the Azov-Georgian Legion (AGL), is a militia group that consists of Georgian volunteers who fight in the conflict in Eastern Ukraine. The group was formed in 2015 by Georgian volunteers who wanted to help the Ukrainian government fight against separatists in the Donbass region of Eastern Ukraine.

The Georgian Legion was formed as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014. After the invasion, many Georgians felt that they had a duty to help their fellow Ukrainians in the conflict. The Georgian Legion was formed as a way for Georgian volunteers to fight alongside the Ukrainian government against the Russian-backed separatists in the Donbass region.

Since its formation, the Georgian Legion has played an important role in the conflict in Eastern Ukraine. The Legion has fought in some of the most intense battles in the conflict, such as the Battle of Ilovaisk and the Battle of Debaltseve. The Legion has been credited with helping the Ukrainian government regain control of important strategic locations, such as Donetsk Airport, which was recaptured in 2015.

The Legion has also been involved in various humanitarian projects, such as providing medical assistance and food to civilians affected by the conflict, as well as aiding in the construction of new homes and infrastructure.

The Georgian Legion is an important part of the Ukrainian conflict, as it provides a way for Georgian volunteers to directly participate in the fight against the Russian-backed separatists in Eastern Ukraine. The Legion has been successful in its mission, and its presence in the conflict has been seen as a symbol of Georgian solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
